Brisbane Waters Private Hospital 'Doors' Commercial
This spot won a New York Advertising Festival Bronze Award in 2017. The idea of the piece is that this person is running through their mind revisiting trauma from their past. |
Atlantic Glass Commercial
This spot plays off the name of the client - production depicting an epic ocean journey. |
Brisbane Waters Private Hospital 'Stress' Commercial
This spot was produced as a follow up to the 'Doors' commercial. Features a cacophony of everyday life stresses, followed by discordant vocal harmonies to build tension. All this with an undercurrent of unrelenting driven march sound effects. |
iHear Branding Commercial - hearing loss
This spot seeks to demonstrate some of the audio problems that come with hearing loss - tinnitus, loss of various audio ranges, and the social impact of hearing loss. |
Outdoor Elegance Commercial
This spot has stripped out the vocal stem from a folk guitar piece called Bloom Box (Publishers: Extreme Music). The vocal stem is then re-edited and harmonies are recombined to form layered vocals. |
The Barbershop Co Commercial
Playing off the name of the client, Barbershop harmonies are utilised in a branding exercise. This is a 15 second cut down of 30, 45 and 60 second versions. |
Central Coast Headlight Restoration Commercial
A simple idea requiring a reasonable amount of production smarts. The commercial features a combination of pitch animation and actual voice over performance, where the actor has engaged in active pitch sliding, under direction from the producer. |
Coast Academy of Music Commercial
While it sounds deceptively simple, this spot is one of the trickiest I have ever made. The difficulty lies in the fact that the two pieces of music being combined here, are completely different genres, in different keys but also different time signatures. Combining the 3/4 Strauss waltz, with 4/4 hip hop, and making it sound seamless ... Well, I hope the producers out there appreciate that. |
Brisbane Waters Private Hospital 'Men's Mental Health' Commercial
This spot uses a non-professional voice under direction from the producer, to create a truly disturbing voice over, who sounds legitimately on the edge. Coupled with evocative and carefully chosen atmospherics, this commercial was part of an ACRA and Sirens award winning campaign. |
Newcrest 'Mystery Sound' Commercial
This spot features a classic misdirect using an ambiguous sound effect. Each suggestion in the voice over creates a particular mental image, which doesn't become clear until the brand and the service is mentioned. |
The Snack Shop Commercial
This spot breaks the golden rule of always making sure your voice over is clear and precise. However, the rule is broken with definite purpose. |
Brisbane Waters Private Hospital 'Alcohol Rehab' Commercial
This spot reproduces the atmospherics of a Comedy Club, something that features prominently in all my Frank Bumm podcast production. This commercial was part of an ACRA and Sirens award winning campaign. |
Saxby's Soft Drink Campaign
This is part of a campaign of around 20 commercials that went to air across a single summer. Saxby's has traditionally been a quirky brand with a comical brand persona. The brief was to fit in with those previous TV commercials which featured fractured histories of the company in a Terry Gilliam style of animation. These radio ads attempt to transfer that style to audio. |
Mowers and More Campaign
This campaign won a 2023 ACRA award. Features nursery rhyme parodies in a hard rock styling. |
Wyong Family Practice Campaign
This campaign features evocative soundscaping that delivers its message using an appeal to fear. These commercials were Award finalists. |

This track features excerpts from various complex production builds used for commercials in 2023 and 2024. |
Podcast Excerpt - ELO Parody
This track is a 2 minute snippet from the Hangin' Out With The Old Fellas podcast, Episode 56. Features a quick parody of Electric Light Orchestra, which came out pretty well. |
Radio Today Podcast Production Awards Entry
5 minutes featuring a few notable production efforts from 2023-24 Hangin' Out With the Old Fellas. The awards night and Wuthering Heights parody. |
